Main Roads Boxes

Queensland Urban Ecology also paints M boxes. These TSBs are owned and operated by the Department of Main Roads. M boxes are installed along Main Roads traffic corridors.

M boxes are identical to B boxes except that the identification plate is in the middle of the wide face of the box. B box identification plates are on one of the narrow sides. M boxes are numbered starting with 'M' and B boxes are numbered starting with 'B'.

We love people painting M boxes. You can paint one or two M boxes and be eligible in the Artforce Awards in the 'Best M Box' category. (Prize money in this category is announced just before the Awards.)

Queensland Urban Ecology paints around 100 M boxes per year.
